WordPress Tip of the Day #0015

Title: Get Your Logo Out There!

The best way to get visits to your site is to get people to know you, remember you and talk about you or your brand. If you are an active member in social sites, forums, games, or comment on other websites, it would be to your advantage to have a picture to represent you or your company across all these places.

The best way I found to do this is to sign up for a Gravatar, which is a company founded by Automattic which is the same company that runs WordPress.

Basically you sign up choose an avatar (picture) to represent yourself on the web, and anywhere you put a comment down that supports Gravatar it will appear. I always suggest keeping the picture you choose on the side for sites that don’t quite support Gravatar yet.

Why not do that every time instead of signing up for Gravatar you ask?

There are two main reasons I like it:

1) Most places ask for your e-mail address anyways, so automatically the picture follows without needing to upload anything, which is extremely handy if you aren’t on your PC.

2) You can link different pictures to different e-mail addresses as you may have e-mails or websites for different interests as I do.
