WordPress Tip of the Day #0002
Title: Time Management
Today’s tip is to help you manage your time.
When I started blogging, I had so much to write about, and would write whenever I had time, and well that’s good for a personal blog, but usually what happens is that the blog gets forgotten or doesn’t get updated enough.
I found that most efficient way to solve this problem is to set blogging times. Depending on how many blogs you have and what your purpose is, you can schedule as much time per day or per week that you need.
In my case I set aside an hour every morning for my blogs, there are some blogs like this one that I update every day, and others once every couple days, and others only when I have time. By scheduling my time I can make sure that every day I can post something somewhere for sure, and I never ignore a blog.
Here’s how posting breaks down for me every morning usually from 6 – 7 am:
WordPressOfTheDay.com: About 15-20 minutes.
MikeGreenFan.com: After a Washington hockey game for about 15-20 minutes.
JamieNorthrup.com: Whenever I have something to say for about 5-10 minutes.
All the others: I usually do a post or at least start one, whatever I have time for.
Keep in mind I take an hour to do just posts, this doesn’t count designing, and other features I work on for my websites. I pretty much do this full time, along side my full time job. It really comes down to managing my time as efficiently as I can.
In the futur we will showcase different tools for time management, as well as updated examples of my schedule as it tends to change a lot.
